Info. about the original:

A truly special train to commemorate our 60th anniversary: BRAWA's passion for small things began in 1948. The selection grew larger and larger, engines, waggons and signal lights steadily surpassed their own high standards year for year. With even greater detail and technology approaching perfection. 60 years of experience have led us to create the standard in replicating authentic details in miniature railroads. The Jubilee Set BR 94 is the most impressive evidence of this standard. Locomotive, waggons and lights tell the history of the railroad and the story of BRAWA, and they will inspire you with their authentic features and a host of fascinating details. Come and join the festivities!

Following the end of the 2nd World War Germany was occupied by the Allied Forces and divided into four zones. The zones initially occupied separately by the British and the U.S. Americans were unified to become the so-called Bizone; the Deutsche Reichsbahn railway vehicles based in this zone were designated Brit-US-Zone. This designation was retained for some time following the establishment of the Deutsche Bundesbahn on September 7th, 1949, as the Russian occupying power did not permit entry of railway cars displaying the inscription DB into West Berlin. The period of time between the end of the war and the establishment of the Federal Republic of Germany and the German Federal Railways is called epoch IIIa.

The Jubilee set comprises a passenger train with freight transport (PmG), as it travelled on the Wieslauftal line between Schorndorf and Welzheim during the post-war period. On the main route Stuttgart - Aalen - (Nuremberg), this railway line, sections of which have been in operation since 1908, branches off after the station in Schorndorf and runs on a nearly even level for 13 km through the Wieslauftal valley. After Rudersberg station it begins to ascend in an increasingly narrow valley and, not only because of the 1:40 gradient just prior to the Welzheim station, can rightfully be designated as a mountain railway. Spectacular bridges and viaducts as well as the attractive scenery of the Welzheim forest determine the unique character of this Wurttemberg branch track which is only 17 km long. The track was put out of operation in 1988; in 1992 the route including its entire civil works was declared to be a cultural relic and the lower section has been in operation again since 1995; due to funding from the Welzheim Railway Development Association the reopening of the route as far as Welzheim will take place in 2009.

The locomotive is a Wurttemberg Tn, designated as type 94.1 since 1925. It is the smallest quintuple clutch tank locomotive to be made in Germany. Many locomotives of this type which were retained after the war were based in the area around Stuttgart and served on Wurttemberg branch tracks for shunting and driving.

The passenger and luggage compartments originated at the beginning of the 20th century and were a routine part of railway life during the 1940's and 50's. The third coach class, sometimes called the wood class, was a normal feature until 1956.

The open freight car, Königsberg 15834, (later type Om21), is an example of the so-called replacement construction type. In the 1920's these were the first standardised components and assemblies to be used by the Deutsche Reichsbahn in its formative years in the manufacture of freight cars. The Königsberger is destined for Welzheim station, where suitable freight is certainly awaiting it. The freight car Kassel 2535 (later type G10) contained in the set, in the category standard layout waggon, was nearly always a component of freight trains in operation after the war and is of course equally present in our PmG. By the way, the Bauknecht firm is waiting at Laufenmuhle station for its goods, whose entry hall is one of the Vollmer products.

The furniture transporters Karl Riedel KG were formerly based in Schorndorf; their furniture waggons are still to be found near the train station. Information gathered from historical documents enabled the colours and logo of the company to be reconstructed and even the original telephone number was determined.

To find our Store, just scan the image below with your mobile phone bar code reader or scan.

The web site is fully working and ready to place orders for all our products as well as for all the 2011 new items including Summer items.

Shipping Charges:

This web site is directly connected to FedEx and to the USPS to obtain the rates for shipping.

However, because it may be errors on the weight or size of the item in our database, the total seen at checkout time is just INFORMATIVE and may be adjusted to real freight charges paid to carriers.

Bulky parcels are hard to calculate here as depending on how we can arrange boxes inside the carton, may change the size so dimensional weight may be lower.

Some small items can be packed in a USPS Small Box. If this is the case, we will use Small Box from the USPS, insured and signature required if value is over $ 50.00. This will result in a substantial lower rate than seen in the checkout page.

We will always select the lower and best solution for your parcel.

We GUARANTEE the most accurate and low charges possible based on all the parameter for the parcel to be ship.

All shipments are sent "Signature Required" and "Insured"...

Navigation:

It is very easy to navigate our web site. The best way to use it is playing with the drop down windows on top of each page where you can select in detail not only the Manufacturer but the most detailed category we carry.

Use combinations of Manufacturers and Categories to go faster to what you like to see.

New items 2012 only can start from the left side of the pages under Model Trains, then you can select the Manufacturer.
