Roco 7520017 Electric Locomotive 110 504-8 DB AG AC

Electric locomotive 110 504 of the Deutsche Bahn.

■ Design in beige-red livery with DB AG logos
■ Finely detailed model with many separately attached plug-in parts
■ With individually switchable headlight or tail light in digital mode

In addition to the class 103, the class 112 in beige-red livery is most certainly one of the most elegant locomotives in the DB fleet from the 1970s and 80s.

The DB put six E 10.1 (E 10 1239–1244) into service in May 1962 which featured special Henschel bogies designed to cope with speeds of 160 km/h. These locomotives were intended to pull the Rheingold trains and the locomotive-hauled trainsets now being used by the Rheinpfeil-Gruppe. In autumn 1962, when the E 10 1265–1270 locomotives which were actually intended for these bogies became available, the E 10 1239–1244 were deconstructed to regain their original condition, and the E 10 1265–1270 locomotives took over these upscale services together with the E 10 1308–1312 locomotives which were delivered soon afterwards. At the end of the 1960s, the last series of the E 10.12 were produced, the 112 485–504.

These locomotives were designed for Krupp bogies, which were able to withstand speeds of 160 km/h.
In November 1994, the 114 504 (ex 112 504) was redesignated to 110 504, and put into regional service in the Stuttgart area. This hard-working locomotive featured prominently in railway fan photography due to its special paintwork.
